Thinking of Playing with Fire?

As we enter the month of October, what can we expect other than candies and costumes? As I think back to the days of having fun with fireworks, I can’t help but wonder how we can enjoy these spectacles responsibly.

So here it is, according to the City of Vancouver:

If you intend to buy and use fireworks this Halloween season in Vancouver, you MUST have a permit and be 19 years of age or older. Fireworks may only be purchased from October 25 to 31 and be discharged on October 31. You must show ID and your permit each time you purchase fireworks and carry both when you use fireworks.

How to get a fireworks permit: Follow the directions on Fire’s website or call 604.873.7593. Permits are free, but you must successfully complete a fireworks safety test to acquire one. You may get a permit anytime during the year.
